Is it more difficult to say the truth than lies?

We always must tell the truth? The answer seems obvious: yes. Whenever we say a lie, we are punished. However, it’s not as simple as this: in life, the truth and the lie are often mixed.

I used to think that we always must tell the truth. Certainly, when our best friend tells us that his neighbour has dead because of an overdose, we believe him and we don’t wonder if he is telling the truth or perhaps is lying. However, when our parents promise us the motorbike which we have been waiting for all our life for our sixteenth birthday and when the day arrives, they only give us a book with a motorbike on the cover, we know that it will be very difficult to trust their words again. So when we talk we need to tell the truth if we want people to believe us.

Anyway, sometimes is too much difficult to tell the truth, and lies help us in some embarrassing situations. I remember perfectly the day when Judit introduced her boyfriend to me. The day before she had told me that he was friendly, outgoing, smart, funny and extremely handsome. Truly, when I saw him I felt sick for a moment; instead of cute and hilarious, he was unbelievably boring, quite hideous and really stupid. Obviously, when Judit asked me about him, I didn’t tell her my true thoughts; I didn’t want to hurt her feelings. So sometimes we have to choose between «You always must tell the truth» and «You don’t have to hurt others». So complicated!

Let’s think about a world without lies right now: it would be a hard, gloomy and a bored world, a world without imagination. There wouldn’t be stories, films and videogames, because all of these are lies. So lies help us to escape from the reality. For this reason, the truth and the lie are not enemies; they are a very good couple, aren’t they?

TWILIGHT SAGA

Six months ago, I heard everybody talking about Twilight saga: “a vampire’s story!”, “an immortal boy and a mortal girl’s romance!”, “blood”, “werewolves”, “monsters”, “eternity”. “What an unreal story!”, I used to think. However, everyone was so much keen on reading the books that I decided to join in Twilight’s readers and Sandra lent me her Twilight’s book. One week later, I couldn’t believe me to be so interested in these books! And will you trust me if I tell you that I have already read the first three books and now I have nearly finished the last one? Yes, I also think it’s hard to believe! They were definitely not as boring as I thought. Actually, they are the best books I have ever read! I can’t believe that I didn’t want to read them at first!

The story is shared out in four books: Twilight, New moon, Eclipse and Breaking dawn. It talks about a vampire, Edward Cullen, who falls in love with a mortal girl, Bella, as soon as he meets her. However, their romantic relationship is interrupted by Jacob, a werewolf who’s in love with Bella too. Even though she finds him very kind and good-looking, she is sure that Edward is her true love. – Certainly, I’m pretty disappointed with Bella because I wanted her to choose Jacob, he is so cute! –. Bella totally refuses to think that someday she will be older than her love, Edward, because vampires don’t grow up. For this reason, she wants Edward to bite her to become a vampire. – She knows that is really hard to get used to be a vampire, but she's ready to take this risk –. He tells Bella that he only will bite her provided she marries him. She hates the idea of marrying! Anyway, they get married and, before she can become a vampire, she becomes pregnant. And perhaps you wonder what kind of monster can be born between a vampire and a human? Will Bella become a vampire finally? And what about Jacob? Is he willing to lose Bella forever? I know all the answers, but I let you to read the books and to discover them by yourselves!

I have no doubt that you have already been hypnotized by Twilight’s magic, haven’t you?

Why weekends are worse than weekdays?

If we asked people what they prefer, we would find out that more than a half people think that weekends are better than weekdays.

We can't deny that on weekdays people look stressed and tired, and sometimes angry too, and you can't talk with them about your problems or the date with that guy you have been waiting for all your life because they are too much busy and worried about their work. So the best way to leave behind all the weekdays' problems is to enjoy as much as you can your weekend and forget for two days the work and the routine. Teens usually forget their exams and their homework and they spend their time hanging out with friends, and they often go to the disco or the cinema. However, parents would like to spend their time with the family, visiting their relatives or going shopping all together.
I also prefer weekends than weekdays, but I think weekdays are not as bad as people think. People are tired of weekdays because they are a routine for us, but if we didn't have some habits, everything would be very boring. So weekdays make weekends more interesting because we wait impatiently for them during all the week.

We have never tried to look for the good things of weekdays: we keep in touch with our friends, we meet new people, we learn lots of things and we even can have a good time. So I think weekdays are not a thing to complain about.
